A Day In Training - Barrington Hills Police
Horse Safety
September 29th, 2007
by Linda Gordon
When a horse breaks through a fence, who ya gonna
call? Of course you can always call on HARPS, but often times the Barrington Hills
Police Department is called in to save the day. HARPS hosted a clinic for the
B.H. police department, to learn about catching, leading, safety around horses,
and use of equipment. We all had a fun informative day with two sessions,
morning and afternoon. The officers were taught the correct way to approach a
horse, body language, proper use of tools and most importantly, how to be safe
around a 1200 pound animal running at large. All of the officers did a
great job, and we applaud their efforts and enthusiasm. HARPS would like
to extend a special thanks to all of the officers in Barrington Hills for
everything they do for our community. Stay Safe!
